When did it suddenly become cool to hate everything? It's a growing problem, especially in the entertainment world, and no one benefits from an increasingly hard to please, pessimistic audience.
Artist's Comments
This has always been one of my favorite pieces. It's partly a portrait and partly my own fantasy creation. I'll explain before too many eyebrows get raised: I had a booth a few years ago at the San Diego ComiCon, and this attractive young woman approaches me and tells me how much she likes my art that's on display there. Her name was Sara Barrett ([link]) and she likes to have artists draw her in fantasy settings (Dorian Cleavanger has a great couple pieces that feature her). This is one of the few, rare perks one has as an artist; getting beautiful, semi-naked pictures of gorgeous models/actresses in the mail. Anyway, I think she liked the way I draw dragons, so I chose a pose from the pics she sent, and here is the result. Pen on paper, in my favorite stipple format, complete with one of my more more advanced dragons in terms of realism at the time. I hope you enjoy...
