Artist's Comments

Character designs and concepts for LADY LUCK, a proposed new web comic by Dan Parsons and myself, possibly to see the light of day in the near future (watch this space!).

The year is 1938, and there's thrills and intrigue afoot aboard a gambling yacht afloat off the coast of California...

Foreground gal is Maggie (modeled by pal Lolita Haze), and behind her is Nico (based on DeNiro and Carey Grant when I started). Portholes from top are an as-yet un-named Fu Manchu baddie (modeled after Boris Karloff and Christopher Lee), un-named Big-Texan (Tom Mix), Sam the cabin boy (based on Colin Hanks), and Detectives Briggs and Haley (latter based on Sydney Greenstreet).

This definitely catches the eye. You've managed to capture the old school feel very well, the clothing, the poses,and just the layout. It reminds me of an old movie poster bck in the golden days of movies. Well done.
