Tonight's model for Dr. Sketchy's Anti-Art School [link] down at the Lost Leaf in Phoenix was Kitty Camille. I was originally sitting in front of her, but A) I needed a table to prop my pad up on and B) I could see that said new angle would afford me with some awesome shadowing. I was right on both counts. She was a joy to draw and her lips and eyes were fun to capture.

3 hour pose, graphite on 18x24 Strathmore Sketch 300

Thanks. I'm quite pleased myself ;) For once I actually feel that I got the proportions on that size paper right (maaaybe the head's too big; I can't tell, but I think it works).

Yes, a good move on your part, definitely. :nod: You took full advantage of the cool shadows, and the shading looks great. The precision of your hatching is a strength, and it's a sign that your concentration and effort are paying off, I think (if your effort is to have a Schultz-ish look to it). :thumbsup:
