Artist's Comments

Eronica Unbound (PLEASE FULL VIEW)

This is my first digital painting. I’ve colored my art in Adobe Photoshop before, but never anything on this scale with the idea of leaving the line-art out. I’m happy I could pull it off, and I look forward to how I can improve my new style (though don’t worry, kids, I’ll never give up my black and white illustrations). There’s links below to my my Work-In-Progress stages…
Pictured are my characters, the Lady Eronica of Tibeth, and Captain James Jovark of the 'Angry Goddess', both the main focus of a Fantasy-based 'Romantica' novel I have finished the drafts of and am currently working on the final edit. This acts as a sort of 'hopeful' cover (I really have no business doing my own cover art for the thing given I'm trying to eventually sell the manuscript, but I do love the characters and wanted to paint them). The scene may seem like a typical ‘Bodice Ripper’, but in truth our heroin is not only an, er, experienced girl, but she is also an undercover agent, ‘kidnapped’ by the pirate captain to be sold on the Sultan of Shebwai’s Slave market… I really hope this short novel gets published somewhere and will let you all know if/when it does.
EDIT: 05/18/09 Available from Phaze.com [link]
Thanks to my dA friends for their support during this process!!

About 35 hours. Adobe Photoshop, Wacom tablet, based on a scanned sketch/composition I did using the below photo references…

This is really impressive! I hope I can do something even close to this when I start into digital media. I love the step-by-step download, too. Very cool! =D

Lady Eronica of Tibeth turned gently away from her sugar daddy and thought, "hmm...I think I left my panties over there...I know for a fact I'm not...." ANYWAYS, you are the greatest thing since sliced bread and Im calling God tomorrow to let him know you're moving on up and he's got to step it up a little to be in the same league with you. This is so cool and for all wives out there with artist husbands...BUY THEM A WACOM NOW!!!!

You're welcome. =)

Well, quite honestly, I don't know. I'm not sure what is going on in it now, although the "post-coital" aspect of it seems fairly obvious (mostly from his pose and attire). Her eye looks focused on something off-screen, rather than just gazing off in inner contemplation, although if she was merely thinking about what happened (and deciding it wasn't such a bad thing after all), that would also fit the image. It would also fit Mr. Man's self-satisfied smirk... =D

Good work! =)

I think you're really on to something with this one. I really like the textures, colors and the pose. Well done, my friend. :salute::+fav:
