Description
This year marks the 80th anniversary of DOC SAVAGE, the enigmatic pulp hero, but I couldn't resist putting him side by side with my favorite, The Shadow. Here they're saving a damsel in distress from some sort of modern head-hunters, apparently in the basement of an Art Deco building in the middle of New York.. or something - just go with it. I used Jack Dempsey, the pugilist prize fighter of old, as Doc's model. This is a print I am making for DOC CON, here in Phoenix AZ

Meredith Carter had come to Doc Savage's skyscraper headquarters, seeking protection. The beautiful young reporter had uncovered a strange story about mysterious disppearances, and bodies being stolen from the morgue, only to turn up later, walking around. Doc had managed to capture one, and for all intents and purposes, it was dead. It did not breathe, and it had no heartbeat.
